IMPACT WALL
As you walk in, there is a huge impact wall that needed to become a more cohesive focal point. I took inspiration from the keywords in the mission statement and placed them boldly on the wall. Took the main artwork from the "BE LOVE" campaign and created a selfie corner.

UPDATED COLORS AND NEW BOOKSTORE LOGO
The King Center (TKC) wanted to create a unique mark for the bookstore and community center.
This set the base for a Unified Visual System
Updated color palettes, typography, and signage helped replace a mix of unrelated campaign graphics with a cohesive brand experience.

STORE ENVIRONMENT REFRESH
The redesign introduced a cleaner, more cohesive visual system that better reflected the King Center's mission while creating a welcoming retail environment.

BEFORE
TKC had very utilitarian signage that didn't really speak to the space or draw people in. There was a mix of different campaign graphics being used together so not vey cohesive.

KIDS CORNER
A flexible children's area was designed to encourage younger visitors to explore the space while supporting events and educational programming.

The Challenge

The King Center Bookstore had accumulated a mix of campaign graphics and visual clutter over time, creating an environment that felt fragmented and outdated. The goal was to refresh the space with a cohesive visual system that felt welcoming and modern while honoring the legacy and mission of the institution.

My Role

Led the creative team responsible for reimagining the bookstore environment. I set the overall creative direction and worked hands-on as Art Director to translate the concept into environmental graphics, signage, and spatial elements.

The Approach

We developed a cohesive visual system that unified the space through updated signage, murals, color palettes, and environmental graphics. A flexible Kids Corner area was introduced to engage younger visitors while supporting community events and programming.

The Outcome

The redesign created a more welcoming and cohesive environment while preserving the cultural significance of the King Center. The updated visual system helped transform the bookstore into a space that better supports visitors, programming, and community engagement.
